Good psychotherapy requires a "match" between client(s) and therapist and avoids "stretching the client to fit the couch." Finding the right psychotherapist involves both clinical skill and personality match. A good therapist is genuine, warm, and offers a human relationship with guidance and good advice. What I offer as a clinician is an active style of psychotherapy with a high regard for where you are in your journey, what your goals are, and what things can be pointed out and changed along the path to growth and improved relationships. As a Marriage & Family Therapist, I work with individuals, couples and families providing child, adolescent and adult psychotherapy. My approach is inclusive of Eastern and Western thought, and includes the fields of neuropsychology, neurolinguistics, emotional and cognitive intelligence, and communication skills. I have extensive training in the fields of bereavement, terminal and chronic illness. Although my graduate specialty included child and adolescent therapy in my family training, I enjoy working with a range of ages and problems. If you call, you will likely reach my voicemail. During the week this means I am likely with a client, like you. I don't interrupt my sessions, and so I make my call backs at the end of my workday, around 5PM. Please do leave me a message, let me know that you found my name on this website, and leave me a good way to reach you. If your voicemail does not specifically identify you, then I will not leave you a message, but rather will continue trying to reach you. Thank you!
